ok....since U mentioned power surges...see if U can get another monitor and swap...see if the problem is with the monitor...maybe power adaptor to LCD spoilt or what....if monitor ok....then disconnect everything from ur motherboard,only leaving the RAM,CPU chip,graphic card and the power socket(s) into the motherboard...boot it up and see if U can get a display.if ur motherboard has on-board VGA output...use it and dont connect the graphic card.

if U think the DVD drive is causing the problem...just disconnect its power socket and see if the system works.

When U switch on the PSU...absolutely no display come out or the BIOS wordings came out?

if U are not on singnet contract...just cancel the line and resubscribe after ur 2 mths...in the meantime...use dialup if U are not into online gaming.

For ur port forwarding part....its a little technical.... http://portforward.com/routers.htm is a pretty good site to refer.
